Thinking skills for Entrepreneurship
Think Africa strongly believes that thinking skills development should be given due attention in all walks of professional as well as personal lives. As 21st C unfolds with a critical need for creativity and entrepreneurship, the focus on thinking skills development is becoming very vital. Thinking skills simply means the ability of being flexible, creative, and proactive – being able to solve problems, make decisions, think critically, communicate ideas effectively and work efficiently within teams and groups.
In this regard, Think Africa, gave a half an hour presentation on “Why focus on Thinking Skills in 21st C” to BDS experts of Entrepreneurship Development Center (EDC) on 15th of October, 2015 @ EDC head quarter. The presentation focused on the bigger picture of 21st C life, the need to focus on thinking skills as well as specific tools that can assist the experts to develop their thinking skills.
The Entrepreneurship Development Centre (EDC) is a quasi-governmental entity established under the framework of the Entrepreneurship Development Program (EDP). To facilitate the realization of the entrepreneurship development goals set in the government’s Growth and Transformation Plan (GTP), the Government of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, represented by the Ministry of Urban Development and Construction (MoUDHCo), in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), formulated and introduced an innovative entrepreneurship and enterprise development initiative, namely the Entrepreneurship Development Program (EDP), which was officially launched in February 2013.
